LONDON: Volvo to go all-electric by 2030, the Chinese-owned company said on Tuesday, joining a growing number of carmakers planning to phase out fossil-fuel engines by the end of this decade.
“I’m completely persuaded there will be no clients who truly need to remain with a petroleum motor,” Volvo Chief Executive Håkan Samuelsson educated correspondents when asked concerning future interest for electric vehicles. “We are persuaded that an electric vehicle is more alluring for clients.”
The Swedish carmaker said half of its worldwide deals ought to be completely electric vehicles by 2025 and the other half mixture models.
